Istanbul is a city of contrasts, where centuries of history meet the energy of modern life at every corner. Walking through its streets with my camera, I was drawn to the layers of culture woven into everyday moments, artisans shaping metal by hand in dimly lit workshops, the call to prayer echoing across crowded squares, and the quiet rhythm of neighbourhoods hidden beyond the busy avenues. These photographs are less about famous landmarks and more about the people, textures, and atmosphere that give Istanbul its soul.

From the warm glow of sunset over the mosques to the narrow streets marked by age and resilience, I wanted this collection to capture the feeling of being present in the city rather than simply observing it. Istanbul constantly shifts between chaos and calm, tradition and change, intimacy and grandeur. Every frame in this portfolio reflects the human stories behind the architecture and history, moments of craftsmanship, faith, work, and daily life that continue to define one of the world’s most fascinating cities.
